Doing well: Bride by Arrangement

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Take a peek at Ruth Ann Nordin’s and my anthology, Bride by Arrangement. It is selling well.

The book includes two novellas. Mine is titled, She Came by Train, and Ruth’s story is The Purchased Bride. The story begins with our characters – hers Ada, mine Opal – meeting on a train, traveling from Virginia to Lincoln, Neb., in 1876. They become friends, keep in touch but live separate lives.

Here is an excerpt from Ruth’s story, The Purchased Bride:

She and Pete made it to the buggy before Jimmy caught up to them.  “What do you think you’re doing?” Jimmy demanded, blocking her so she couldn’t sit in the buggy.

“Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m getting some things to take home,” she replied.  “Now if you’ll excuse us, Pete and I have to go.”

“This is inappropriate and you know it, Ada.”

She glanced at Pete who seemed intent on watching her and Jimmy, probably trying to figure out why they were both upset. “It’s nothing of the sort,” she replied, turning her attention back to Jimmy.  “We’re doing what normal, married people do.  We’re shopping for things we need.”

“You know very well that Pete isn’t normal.”
